Laurence Leblanc
French photographer
Born in 1967 in Paris where she presently lives.

Laurence Leblanc's photography began as a dialogue with music, specifically that of Peter Gabriel. After leaving this field, she decided to explore the world of childhood in an effort to visualise subconscious feelings that pose a real challenge. She went to Cambodia, a nation where thirty percent of children are still born, a quarter of a century after the horror of the Khmer Rouge. With the traumatic experiences of this dramatic period being passed from mother to child and linked to this dramatic period, she managed to find a modest and sensitive way to connect us with this question. Then, she chronicled Cambodian women living in temples while developing a personal approach to colour. Her sensitive photography strongly stands witness as a powerful documentary medium
